Crypto Calculators: 19 Free Tools for Profit, Tax and More

A crypto calculator turns a question like “what is 0.05 BTC worth?” or “how much tax will I owe on this sale?” into a number you can act on. Below are the free calculators on Shironeko, grouped by the job they do. Every one runs in your browser, needs no account, and uses live prices from our own cached data feed. Pick the closest match from the table, or scroll to the group you need.

Key takeaways

  • Start with the converter on this page for quick coin-to-dollar maths, then use the dedicated tool for anything involving fees, tax or risk.
  • Every calculator shows its assumptions; change any input to test a different scenario.
  • Results are estimates. Prices move, exchanges add spreads, and tax rules depend on your full situation.
  • Nothing you type is stored on our servers. The portfolio tracker and paper-trading account are saved only in your own browser.

Price and conversion calculators

These answer “how much is it worth?” questions using live prices for 25 large cryptocurrencies.

  • Coin-to-dollar converter (on this page): converts any of the 25 coins to or from US dollars and shows the 24-hour move and market cap.
  • Crypto prices and screener: a sortable live table of price, 24-hour change, market cap and circulating supply, with a filter box.
  • Market cap calculator: shows what a coin would cost if it reached another coin’s market cap, which is a quick reality check on price targets that would need trillions of dollars of new money.
  • Unit converter and gas estimator: converts sats, gwei and wei, and estimates the dollar cost of an Ethereum transaction from the live gas price.

Profit, investing and portfolio calculators

  • Crypto profit calculator: enter buy price, sell price and fees to get profit, return on investment, annualized return and your break-even sell price.
  • DCA calculator: backtests daily, weekly or monthly purchases over the past three to twelve months and compares them with investing everything on day one.
  • Portfolio tracker: list your holdings to see live value, allocation, 24-hour change and profit against what you paid, without connecting a wallet or creating an account.
  • Paper trading simulator: practise buying and selling with $10,000 of pretend money at live prices, with a 0.5% fee per trade so the results feel realistic.

Crypto tax calculators (US)

Both tools use the 2026 federal brackets, standard deduction and long-term capital gains thresholds published in IRS Rev. Proc. 2025-32, plus the 3.8% net investment income tax and the $3,000 annual limit on deducting net capital losses.

  • Crypto tax calculator: estimates federal tax on short- and long-term gains stacked on top of your other income, with an optional flat state rate.
  • Tax-loss harvesting calculator: compares your bill with and without selling losing positions before year-end, and shows any loss carried into the next year.

Neither replaces a tax professional or software that imports your full transaction history; see our crypto tax guide for how cost basis and Form 1099-DA fit together.

Trading and risk calculators

  • Position size calculator: sizes a trade from your account balance, the percentage you are willing to lose and where your stop-loss sits, then shows the reward-to-risk ratio for your target. It also appears on our leverage trading guide.
  • Liquidation price calculator: estimates where an isolated-margin long or short would be liquidated, with a table of the same entry at 2x to 100x leverage.

Staking and DeFi calculators

  • Staking rewards calculator: converts an advertised APR into the yield you keep after validator fees, adds compounding, and subtracts token inflation to show the real return.
  • Impermanent loss calculator: shows how much a liquidity position trails simply holding after a price move, for 50/50 and weighted pools, and the fee APR needed to break even.
  • Unstaking time lookup: gives the unbonding period for 15 networks and the date your coins are likely to be free to move.

Bitcoin and mining calculators

  • Bitcoin mining profitability calculator: pick an ASIC or enter your own hashrate and power draw; live price, difficulty and fees give daily profit, break-even electricity price and hashprice.
  • Bitcoin halving countdown: live block height, blocks remaining to block 1,050,000 and an estimated date based on the current block pace.

Safety tools

  • Fake crypto site checker: paste a link to compare it with the official domains of major wallets, exchanges and DeFi apps; lookalike spellings and disguised characters are flagged. The check runs in your browser, so the address is not sent anywhere.
  • Rug pull risk checklist: twelve questions about liquidity, contract permissions, holders and promotion produce a risk score and the biggest red flags.

How our calculators get their numbers

Prices, market caps and 24-hour changes come from CoinGecko; Bitcoin difficulty, fees and block height come from mempool.space; the Ethereum gas price comes from a public Ethereum node. Our server fetches this data and caches it for about ten minutes, so your browser only ever talks to Shironeko. If a data source is unavailable, the tools say so instead of showing old numbers, and every live figure can be overwritten by hand.

Tips for getting reliable answers from a crypto calculator

Most surprising results come from an input, not the maths. A few habits make the numbers far more useful.

  • Include every fee. A 0.6% fee on the way in and again on the way out turns a 1% price gain into a small loss. The profit calculator, DCA backtest and paper-trading simulator all have a fee field for this reason.
  • Use the right holding period. In the US, crypto held for one year or less is taxed as ordinary income, while longer holdings get the lower long-term rates. Splitting your gains correctly matters more than any other tax input.
  • Check the unit. Exchanges quote prices per whole coin, wallets often show sats or gwei, and staking dashboards mix APR and APY. The unit converter and staking calculator translate between them.
  • Stress-test, do not predict. Run the mining, staking and liquidation calculators at a price 30% lower than today. If the plan only works at today’s price, it is fragile.
  • Compare like with like. A DCA result over a falling year will look better than a lump sum and worse over a rising one. Try several start dates before drawing a conclusion.

FAQ

What is a crypto calculator?

A crypto calculator is a tool that converts cryptocurrency amounts into another currency or works out a result such as profit, tax, staking rewards or mining income from the numbers you enter. The simplest kind converts a coin amount to dollars at the current price.

Are these crypto calculators free?

Yes. All of them are free, need no sign-up, and work on phones as well as desktops.

How accurate are the results?

They are as accurate as the inputs. Live prices can be a few minutes old, exchanges add spreads and fees, and calculators cannot know every detail of your tax situation, so treat the output as an estimate.

Which coins do the live calculators support?

The converter, screener, portfolio tracker, DCA backtest and paper-trading simulator cover 25 large cryptocurrencies, including Bitcoin, Ethereum, Solana, XRP, BNB, Dogecoin, Cardano and TRON. Calculators that do not depend on a live price, such as the profit, tax and position size tools, work with any coin because you enter the prices yourself.

Do you store what I enter?

No. Calculations run in your browser. The portfolio tracker and paper-trading account remember your entries only in your browser’s own storage, and clearing your browser data deletes them.

Crypto is volatile and risky; this is education, not financial advice. Do your own research.
