Ravencoin availability in late 2026
Most “where to buy RVN” lists online were written before August 2026, so here is what changed. From about 7 August, attackers exploited a flaw in how Ravencoin nodes validated the block-height field in KAWPOW block headers, and vulnerable nodes accepted invalid blocks. The first bad block was reported at height 4,487,776. An emergency patch from the 2Miners team added a checkpoint at block 4,487,775. The project warned that transactions confirmed after that point could be reorganised. Exchanges reacted fast: Upbit paused RVN deposits and withdrawals on 10 August, Bitget paused transfers, and Upbit put RVN on its trading-alert list on 11 August. Some custodians resumed RVN transfers later that month.
The delistings followed. Bitvavo’s help centre confirmed that it removed Kava, Nano and Ravencoin on Friday 18 September 2026 and converted leftover RVN balances to euros by 28 September. Bitvavo cited its periodic review criteria (volume, network security, developer activity), not a specific incident. Upbit announced on 10 September that RVN trading against KRW, BTC and USDT would end at 15:00 KST on 12 October 2026. Reports say Upbit allowed withdrawals for a limited window after that, but check Upbit’s own notice before relying on any deadline. Bithumb has RVN on a watchlist with no published delisting date.

A few practical points follow from that table. Almost every remaining market is quoted in USDT, so many buyers do it in two hops: buy USDT or USDC on an exchange they already use, send it to a venue that lists RVN, then trade. The economics changed in 2026. The second halving, at block 4,200,000 in January 2026, cut the block subsidy from 2,500 to 1,250 RVN. With blocks roughly a minute apart, network issuance halved overnight. Ravencoin wallets
Whatever route you choose, you need a wallet that understands Ravencoin’s own address format, not an Ethereum-style 0x address. A valid RVN address starts with a capital “R” and has no memo, tag or payment ID. If an exchange withdrawal form asks for a memo when you select RVN, stop and check that you picked the right asset and network.
- Ravencoin Core: the reference full-node wallet. It also handles Ravencoin assets, but it downloads the whole chain, and after August 2026 it is important to run a patched version.
- Electrum-Ravencoin: a lighter desktop wallet based on the Electrum design. It can pair with a Trezor.

- Keep long-term RVN in your own wallet so an exchange removal does not force a sale at a conversion rate you did not choose.
- Know your exit venue in advance. If you buy on Binance.US but later move abroad, you may need a different exchange to sell.
- Size positions to the book. With Upbit gone, check the 24-hour volume on the venues you can actually use, not the global aggregate on price sites.
Also keep in mind that the August incident ended with an alternative chain built from the checkpoint and a warning of a multi-day reorganisation. Deposits made during an incident window can be reversed or delayed, so avoid moving RVN to or from exchanges while the network is under an active advisory.
