How to Buy SUI: Exchanges, Slush Wallet and SUI ETFs

How to Buy SUI: Exchanges, Slush Wallet and SUI ETFs

There are three practical answers to how to buy SUI in October 2026. You can buy the coin in an app such as Coinbase, Kraken or Robinhood and leave it there; you can withdraw it to a self-custody wallet like Slush or Phantom on the Sui network; or you can skip the coin entirely and buy a US-listed SUI exchange-traded fund in a brokerage account. Each has a different failure point. For the app route it is fees, for self-custody it is Sui’s unusually long address format, and for ETFs it is product structure. This page walks through all three.

The essentials

  • SUI is listed for spot trading on Coinbase, Kraken, Robinhood, Binance, OKX and Bitget as of October 2026.
  • Sui addresses are 0x followed by 64 hex characters, much longer than an Ethereum address. An Ethereum or MetaMask address cannot receive native SUI.
  • Slush (formerly Sui Wallet) is the official wallet from Mysten Labs; Phantom also supports Sui.
  • Spot SUI ETFs began trading in the US in February 2026, including Canary’s SUIS, Grayscale’s GSUI and 21Shares’ TSUI.
  • Scheduled token unlocks continue for years, which adds supply pressure to weigh before buying.

How to buy SUI: three ways to own it

Sui is a layer 1 blockchain that uses the Move programming language and an object-based data model rather than Ethereum’s account model; our SUI explainer covers the technology. For a buyer, that design shows up in one place: Sui is not an EVM chain, so the wallets, address formats and bridges you know from Ethereum do not carry over.

Route What you actually own Main thing to check Can you stake?
Exchange or app A claim on SUI held by the platform Spread or trading fee; transfer-out support Only if the platform offers it in your region
Self-custody wallet SUI on the Sui network, controlled by your keys Correct 0x + 64-character address and Sui network Yes, natively
SUI ETF Shares in a fund that holds SUI Expense ratio; whether staking rewards pass through Indirectly, if the fund stakes

Many people combine routes: an ETF in a retirement or brokerage account, and a smaller amount of native SUI in a wallet for using Sui apps.

Whichever route you take, costs show up in different places. On an exchange, they sit in the spread and trading fee, plus a flat SUI withdrawal fee if you move coins out. In a wallet, every action pays Sui gas, which has two parts: a computation fee and a storage fee for the on-chain objects your transaction creates. Sui refunds most of the storage fee when those objects are later deleted, which is one reason simple transfers stay cheap. With an ETF, the main cost is the annual expense ratio, deducted from the fund’s assets rather than charged to you directly.

Where to buy SUI: exchanges and apps listing it

We confirmed SUI spot listings as of October 2026 against exchange support pages and CoinGecko’s market tables. The list is alphabetical within each region group, not a ranking. Compare trading costs yourself; our how-to-buy-crypto hub explains account setup and payment options in general.

Platform SUI market Sui-network withdrawals Region notes
Coinbase SUI/USD spot Yes US and international
Kraken SUI/USD spot Yes US, EU, UK and others
Robinhood Buy, sell, transfer Yes; address must be 0x + 64 hex characters US; no state restriction listed for SUI
Binance SUI/USDT and SUI/USDC Yes Not available to US residents
OKX, Bitget, Gate SUI/USDT spot Yes Generally not open to US residents

“SUI Robinhood” is a common search, so a note on it: Robinhood lists SUI as tradable without state restrictions and supports deposits and withdrawals on the Sui network. Its transfer page spells out the address rule, “0x” plus 64 hex characters, and credits deposits after one confirmation. Bybit lists SUI derivatives prominently, but we did not find its spot pair among the leading SUI markets when we checked, so verify in-app if you plan to use it.

Your first SUI withdrawal to Slush or Phantom

This is where Sui differs most from other chains. An Ethereum-style address is 0x plus 40 hex characters (20 bytes). A Sui address is 0x plus 64 hex characters (32 bytes). If you paste a MetaMask address into a Sui withdrawal form, a good exchange will reject it; a careless interface might not, and funds sent to an address nobody controls on Sui are gone.

Picking a Sui wallet

  • Slush is the rebranded Sui Wallet from Mysten Labs, available as a browser extension, web app and iOS/Android app. It supports zkLogin (sign in with a Google-style account) and connects to a Ledger running the Sui app.
  • Phantom added Sui support; it detects the Sui network and creates a Sui account alongside your Solana and EVM accounts. Note that your Phantom Sui address is different from your Phantom Ethereum address.
  • Ledger users can also send and receive SUI through Ledger Live directly.

Withdrawal checklist

  1. In the wallet, copy the address shown under the Sui account and count it: 0x then 64 characters.
  2. On the exchange, select Sui as the network. There is no memo or tag for SUI.
  3. Send a small test, confirm it on a Sui explorer such as Suiscan, then send the rest.
  4. Leave a little SUI unstaked; every Sui transaction pays gas in SUI.

If your funds are on another chain, such as USDC on Ethereum or Solana, and you want them on Sui, that is bridging rather than buying. Our guide to bridging to Sui covers routes and risks. Once SUI is in your wallet, native staking to a validator is a few clicks; see how to stake SUI for validator selection and reward timing.

SUI ETFs and ETPs

A SUI ETF lets you get price exposure in an ordinary brokerage account without managing keys. As of October 2026, US-listed options include:

Fund Ticker Type Launched
Canary staked SUI ETF SUIS (Nasdaq) Spot, passes through net staking rewards February 18, 2026
Grayscale SUI ETF GSUI (NYSE Arca) Spot; converted from the Grayscale SUI Trust February 2026
21Shares Spot SUI ETF TSUI (Nasdaq) Spot Late February 2026
21Shares 2x SUI ETF TXXS (Nasdaq) Leveraged, 2x daily exposure December 2025

Three cautions. First, a leveraged 2x fund resets daily, so over weeks its return can differ sharply from twice SUI’s move; it is a trading tool, not a holding. Second, spot crypto ETFs like these are generally not registered under the Investment Company Act of 1940, so they lack some protections of traditional mutual funds and ETFs. Third, compare expense ratios and staking policies on each issuer’s fact sheet, since they differ and can change. Outside the US, exchange-traded products (ETPs) tracking SUI trade on some European venues; check availability and documentation with your broker.

A fund does not let you use Sui apps, vote, or move tokens. If that matters, buy the coin.

Unlocks and other risks to weigh

SUI has a 10 billion maximum supply, and less than half was circulating in late 2026 according to token-unlock trackers. The rest unlocks over time to early contributors, investors, Mysten Labs and the community reserve, with scheduled releases extending into 2030. Trackers such as Tokenomist publish the calendar, but third-party figures for monthly unlock sizes disagree with each other, so look at the live schedule rather than any single number. Large unlocks do not guarantee price drops, but they increase the supply that early holders can sell.

Before buying, it helps to see what different market conditions could mean for the price: our Sui price prediction sets out bear, base and bull scenarios with the assumptions behind each.

Other SUI-specific risks:

  • Ecosystem concentration. Mysten Labs and the Sui Foundation remain central to development and to a large share of the token supply.
  • DeFi incidents. Sui-based protocols have suffered exploits, so wallet apps that connect to DeFi carry smart-contract risk beyond holding SUI itself.
  • Competition. Sui competes for developers with other Move chains and high-throughput layer 1s; our Aptos vs Sui comparison sets out the differences.

FAQ

Where can I buy SUI crypto in the US?

As of October 2026, US residents can buy SUI on Coinbase, Kraken and Robinhood, all of which support Sui-network withdrawals. Binance, OKX and Bitget list SUI but do not serve US customers. If you prefer a brokerage account, US-listed spot SUI ETFs such as SUIS, GSUI and TSUI are another route.

Can I send SUI to MetaMask?

No. MetaMask addresses are Ethereum-format (0x plus 40 characters) and live on EVM chains. Native SUI needs a Sui address, which is 0x plus 64 characters. Use Slush, Phantom’s Sui account or a Ledger with the Sui app. Sending SUI to an Ethereum address risks permanent loss.

Is there a SUI ETF?

Yes. Canary’s SUIS and Grayscale’s GSUI began trading on February 18, 2026, followed by 21Shares’ TSUI later that month. 21Shares also offers TXXS, a 2x leveraged product launched in December 2025. Check each fund’s expense ratio and whether it passes through staking rewards.

What is the best SUI wallet for beginners?

Slush, the official wallet from Mysten Labs, is the most common starting point because it supports Google-style zkLogin sign-in and works on desktop and mobile. Phantom suits people who already use it for Solana. For larger balances, pair either with a Ledger hardware wallet running the Sui app.
