Last updated: 27 October 2026
WLD, the token of the World network (formerly Worldcoin), was about $0.44 on 27 October 2026, per CoinGecko, for a market cap near $1.64 billion (rank 60). It is roughly 96% below its March 2024 record of $11.74, and in May 2026 it set a new all-time low. This Worldcoin price prediction focuses on the two forces that decide WLD’s value: the tokens still unlocking every day, and whether World ID becomes something apps pay for. Every scenario below states its supply and market cap assumptions.
Key takeaways
- About 3.72 billion of 10 billion WLD circulate. On 24 July 2026 the daily unlock rate fell about 43%, from roughly 5.1 million to 2.9 million WLD.
- World stopped giving free WLD to newly verified users on 1 June 2026 and proposed making apps pay WLD fees for World ID proofs.
- Nasdaq-listed Eightco (ORBS) held about 302 million WLD at the end of July, around 8% of circulating supply.
- Our end-2026 base case is $0.39–$0.57. We found no bank or asset-manager price targets for WLD.
WLD’s path: launch hype, record and a new low
The token launched in July 2023 with only a small fraction of supply circulating. The low float, the Sam Altman connection and the early-2024 AI rally pushed WLD to its all-time high of $11.74 on 9 March 2024. In October 2024 the project rebranded from Worldcoin to World. The token kept the WLD ticker but steadily lost value as unlocks expanded the supply.
A year ago WLD traded near $0.95. It started 2026 at about $0.48 and slid through spring. On 18 May 2026 it hit a new all-time low of about $0.23. Then came the sharpest rally of the year. Santiment data showed whale transactions at their highest level of 2026. Speculation about an OpenAI IPO and the scheduled unlock cut drew buyers, and WLD reached about $0.67 on 17 June, nearly three times the May low. Much of that gain faded over the summer. The token climbed again to about $0.51 after World’s banking announcement at Money20/20 on 18 October before slipping back to the mid-$0.40s.

Supply: the slower unlock and what it changes
World said in April 2026 that existing on-chain vesting contracts would cut daily unlocks from 24 July. Community unlocks fell from about 3.2 million to 1.6 million WLD a day, and team and investor unlocks from about 1.9 million to 1.3 million. The unlocks stay linear, with no single cliff events. Eightco’s July update described this as the end of the network’s heaviest three-year unlock period.
The cut slows dilution but does not reverse it. Even at 2.9 million a day, roughly 1 billion WLD can unlock per year, and since April CoinGecko’s circulating figure has risen from about 3.3 billion to 3.72 billion. That growth changes the value of each $1 billion of market cap:
- Today (3.72B circulating): $1 billion ≈ $0.269 per WLD
- End-2026 assumption (3.85B): $1 billion ≈ $0.260
- End-2027 assumption (4.6B): $1 billion ≈ $0.217
- 2030 assumption (6.5B): $1 billion ≈ $0.154
The future supply figures are our assumptions, based on the recent pace, not official projections. Sudden exchange deposits can still happen. On 25 October, on-chain trackers reported that project-linked addresses had sent about 10.5 million WLD to exchanges.
Demand-side drivers in 2026
Turning World ID into revenue
World ID 4.0 launched at World’s Lift Off event on 17 April 2026, along with a proposed model in which applications pay fees, expected in WLD, to request proofs of personhood, while verification stays free for users. In October World pitched a World ID package for banks and financial firms, bundling the World ID app, World ID for Zoom and World ID for Agents. As of the announcement, there was no named paying bank and no published price. If fees go live with real customers, WLD gains a demand source. If they don’t, WLD remains mostly a speculative bet on adoption.
Usage and distribution
World reports close to 18 million Orb-verified people across about 160 countries. US Orb sites opened in May 2025 in six cities, including Atlanta, Austin and Los Angeles, and World Money, a payments product with Stripe as the default US funding route, launched on 17 September 2026. Ending free grants for new users removes a source of steady selling but also removes an incentive to sign up.
Corporate treasury buyer
Eightco Holdings (Nasdaq: ORBS) started a WLD treasury strategy in September 2025. It reported 277 million WLD in March 2026 and about 302 million by 26 July 2026, alongside cash and ETH. A concentrated corporate holder can support prices while it is buying. It becomes a risk if the company ever needs to sell.
Regulation
Biometric collection keeps drawing enforcement. Authorities in Spain, Portugal, Hong Kong, Bavaria, Kenya, Brazil, Indonesia, the Philippines, Colombia and Thailand have halted, restricted or ordered deletion of World’s iris data at various points since 2024. Brazil’s investigation was expected to conclude in late 2026. Each new market that opens or closes affects how many people World can verify.
Bull versus bear in one view
- Bull: slower unlocks, app-paid World ID fees, AI-driven demand for proof of personhood, US expansion, a corporate treasury buyer.
- Bear: roughly 6 billion WLD not yet circulating, no proven fee revenue, recurring regulatory bans, and price moves that track OpenAI headlines more than World’s own metrics.
Worldcoin price prediction 2026 and 2027
Each range divides an assumed market cap by the assumed supply for that date (3.85 billion at end-2026, 4.6 billion at end-2027). These are scenarios, not promises or recommendations. Run your own versions with the calculator in our market cap guide.
| Scenario | Assumptions | End-2026 | End-2027 |
|---|---|---|---|
| Bear | New regulatory bans, World ID fees fail to start, AI tokens sold off, Eightco stops buying | $1.0–1.4B → $0.26–$0.36 | $0.8–1.5B → $0.17–$0.33 |
| Base | Gradual user growth, fee model starts small, unlocks absorbed at today’s pace | $1.5–2.2B → $0.39–$0.57 | $1.8–3.5B → $0.39–$0.76 |
| Bull | Paying enterprise clients for World ID, renewed AI-token rally, US growth | $2.4–3.0B → $0.62–$0.78 | $5.0–8.0B → $1.09–$1.74 |
For context, WLD has already traded between $0.23 and $0.67 in 2026, about the same spread as our full end-2026 band. Two months is enough time for a move of that size. The 2027 bull case would mean roughly tripling to quintupling today’s market cap, which needs real fee revenue rather than headlines alone.
Worldcoin price prediction 2030
We assume about 6.5 billion WLD circulating by 2030, as team, investor and community allocations keep vesting.
- Bear, $0.5–1.5B ($0.08–$0.23): Proof of personhood is taken over by governments, Apple, Google or rivals with no biometric hardware, and WLD keeps diluting with little demand.
- Base, $3–7B ($0.46–$1.08): World ID is a widely used but not dominant identity layer, and app fees create modest, steady WLD demand.
- Bull, $15–25B ($2.31–$3.85): Bots and AI agents make verified-human checks routine across finance and social platforms, and World is the default provider paid in WLD.
Treat these as rough illustrations. A single privacy ruling in a large market, a change in World’s fee design or a shift in OpenAI’s fortunes could make any 2030 figure obsolete.
What analysts and forecasters say
We found no WLD price targets from banks or major crypto asset managers (including Standard Chartered, Bernstein, VanEck, Grayscale and Messari) as of late October 2026. Earlier in the year, exchange-syndicated technical notes projected short-term bands such as $0.62–$0.73 for February 2026. WLD traded nowhere near those levels then, which shows how unreliable such outputs are. We don’t treat them as research.
Metrics to watch
- Daily unlocks versus exchange inflows: confirm the lower unlock rate and spot large deposits from project or investor wallets.
- World ID fees: the first named customers, the price per proof and whether fees are paid in WLD.
- Verified users: growth beyond about 18 million now that new users no longer get free WLD.
- Eightco filings: quarterly holdings and cash position.
- Regulatory decisions: especially Brazil’s investigation and any EU ruling.
How to buy WLD
WLD trades on many large exchanges and can be held in World App or any wallet that supports World Chain or Ethereum. Buying the token does not require Orb verification, and US availability excludes some states. Our how to buy Worldcoin guide covers the steps, and the Worldcoin profile explains World ID and the Orb. FAQ
Will Worldcoin go up?
It might, but the supply keeps growing by roughly 1 billion WLD a year at the current unlock pace. The market cap has to rise just to hold today’s price. Our end-2026 base range of $0.39–$0.57 includes the current level. Any sustained rise most likely depends on World ID fees starting with paying customers.
Can WLD reach $1?
At $1, WLD needs a market cap of about $3.85 billion at end-2026 supply or $4.6 billion at the end of 2027, roughly 2.3 to 2.8 times today. That is above our 2027 base range (top $0.76) and just below the bottom of the 2027 bull range ($1.09). It would take real fee revenue or a strong AI-token market.
Can WLD return to $11.74?
Not on realistic numbers. With 6.5 billion tokens circulating in 2030, $11.74 implies about $76 billion, roughly three times our most optimistic 2030 case. The 2024 record happened when only a small fraction of WLD traded. Even with today’s 3.72 billion supply, it would mean about $44 billion.
Did the July 2026 unlock cut stop dilution?
No, it slowed it. The daily rate dropped by about 43% to roughly 2.9 million WLD, but the unlocks continue every day and about 6 billion tokens are not yet circulating. It reduces selling pressure, but demand still has to grow to absorb new supply.
Is WLD connected to OpenAI?
Not directly. Sam Altman co-founded both, but there is no publicly disclosed ownership or revenue link between OpenAI and WLD. Traders still treat WLD as an OpenAI proxy. The June 2026 rally was linked to OpenAI IPO speculation, so OpenAI headlines can move the price even though they don’t change World’s fundamentals.
