Last updated: 27 October 2026
Immutable’s token set a new all-time low in August 2026, below any earlier price on CoinGecko’s record, while the company behind it started selling a game-marketing product with no blockchain in it. IMX was about $0.14 on 27 October 2026, per CoinGecko, with a market cap near $125 million (rank 237) based on roughly 904 million tradable tokens. This IMX price prediction looks at how the token got here, why its supply figure needs care, and what bear, base and bull cases imply for the end of 2026, 2027 and 2030.
Key takeaways
- IMX peaked at $9.52 on 25 November 2021 and made a fresh all-time low of about $0.095 on 19 August 2026 (CoinGecko). It is down about 75% over 12 months.
- The vesting schedule finished on 5 March 2026, according to Tokenomics.com, so there are no more scheduled unlocks. All 2 billion IMX have been issued.
- Trackers disagree on circulation: CoinGecko counts about 904 million tradable IMX, while CoinMarketCap counts all 2 billion. CoinGecko does not publicly explain the gap; market commentary attributes it to treasury and ecosystem holdings.
- In August 2026 Immutable launched Immutable Audience, a growth tool for Steam games that does not use blockchain. Immutable Chain’s DeFi deposits were about $11 million in October.
- Each $1 billion of market cap equals about $1.11 per IMX on CoinGecko’s count, or $0.50 per IMX if all 2 billion tokens are counted.
IMX price history
IMX launched in the second half of 2021 to power ImmutableX, a StarkWare-based layer 2 for NFT games such as Gods Unchained. It reached $9.52 in late November 2021, near the peak of the NFT market. The 2022 crash pushed it well below $1. The token recovered in the 2023–24 cycle, reaching about $3.76 in March 2024 (Binance data), when gaming tokens and Immutable’s zkEVM rollout were attracting attention.
Since then the trend has been almost one-directional:
- Late 2024: Immutable disclosed an SEC Wells notice over its 2021 token sales. IMX briefly rallied above $2 in December 2024 with the wider market.
- 25 March 2025: Immutable said the SEC had closed its investigation without enforcement action. IMX still fell from about $1.33 at the start of 2025 to roughly $0.22 by year-end.
- 19 June 2025: staking moved from ImmutableX to Immutable zkEVM, with rewards funded by a share of NFT trading fees.
- October 2025: the 10 October market-wide liquidation briefly sent IMX to about $0.22 on Binance, a preview of where it would settle.
- First half of 2026: ImmutableX was moved to read-only mode and its assets migrated into the zkEVM, now branded Immutable Chain. The IMX token itself did not change. Vesting ended in March.
- June to August 2026: IMX slid from about $0.16 to its all-time low near $0.095 on 19 August.
- September to October 2026: a rebound took it back to around $0.20–$0.21 in early October before it slipped to $0.14, about 17% lower over 30 days.
What changed at Immutable in 2026
The most important shift is strategic. Immutable built its brand on blockchain gaming infrastructure, but its newest product is for mainstream PC studios. Immutable Audience, available to pre-launch Steam games from 21 August 2026, combines growth planning, wishlist attribution and a player CRM. GamesBeat reported that there is no blockchain technology in it. Immutable said it had worked with more than 700 games and studios and was in talks with over 100 about Audience, and co-founder Robbie Ferguson said the company was onboarding around 15 studios a week. CryptoTicker reported in October that most of Immutable’s revenue now comes from non-blockchain services.
That may be good for Immutable the company. For IMX holders it is ambiguous, because the token’s value depends on on-chain activity: gas on Immutable Chain, NFT trading fees shared with stakers, and the network’s role as a hub for game assets. With player transactions often sponsored by studios and DeFi deposits near $11 million, roughly unchanged since January, direct demand for IMX is thin.
The second change is supply. Vesting ended on 5 March 2026, and no unlock events remain on Tokenomics.com’s schedule. That removes the steady unlock pressure of 2022–25, but it also means about 1.1 billion IMX that CoinGecko excludes from circulation could, in principle, be distributed or sold by the entities that hold them.
Bullish factors
- No scheduled unlocks: the multi-year vesting overhang is over.
- Regulatory clarity: the SEC probe closed in March 2025, so US exchanges have less reason to delist IMX.
- Distribution: hundreds of studio relationships give Immutable a channel to bring Web2 games onto its chain if blockchain features become attractive again.
- A single chain: consolidating into Immutable Chain ended the split between two networks and simplified the developer pitch.
Bearish factors and risks
- Strategic drift: if Immutable’s growth comes from products that do not touch IMX, the token loses its link to company success.
- Weak on-chain usage: low deposits and sponsored gas mean little organic token demand.
- Supply held off-market: roughly 1.1 billion IMX outside CoinGecko’s tradable count is a potential source of selling.
- Sector competition: gaming chains such as Ronin, plus general layer 2s, compete for the same studios, and blockchain gaming still has no mainstream breakout hit.
IMX price prediction 2026 and 2027: scenarios
Supply maths: on CoinGecko’s 904 million tradable IMX, $1 billion of market cap equals about $1.11 per token. For 2027 we assume the tradable count drifts up to about 1 billion as held tokens are distributed, so $1 billion equals $1.00 per IMX. If every one of the 2 billion tokens were counted, the same price would imply a market value about 2.2 times larger, which is worth remembering when comparing IMX with fully circulating tokens. These are scenarios, not predictions.
| Scenario | Assumptions | End-2026 market cap → IMX | End-2027 market cap → IMX |
|---|---|---|---|
| Bear | Held tokens reach exchanges, gaming tokens keep bleeding, on-chain activity falls further | $65–95M → about $0.07–$0.105 | $40–90M → about $0.04–$0.09 |
| Base | Immutable Chain usage flat; Audience grows the company but adds little IMX demand; quiet market | $105–170M → about $0.12–$0.19 | $100–250M → about $0.10–$0.25 |
| Bull | A hit game launches on Immutable Chain, Audience studios adopt on-chain features, gaming tokens rally | $190–280M → about $0.21–$0.31 | $350–700M → about $0.35–$0.70 |
The 2027 bull case would only bring IMX back to its September 2025 range. The bear case extends the 2026 pattern of new lows.
IMX price prediction 2030
For 2030 we assume about 1.3 billion IMX are counted as circulating, so $1 billion of market cap equals about $0.77 per token. If all 2 billion count, divide each figure by roughly 1.5.
- Bear (under $60 million): below about $0.05. Immutable becomes a marketing-software firm, the chain is maintained but little used, and IMX trades as an orphaned token.
- Base ($150–500 million): about $0.12–$0.38. Blockchain features become a modest add-on for some games, and Immutable Chain keeps a niche as a hub for tradeable game items.
- Bull ($1.2–2.5 billion): about $0.92–$1.92. Digital ownership becomes common in mainstream games and Immutable converts its studio network into on-chain activity, with staking rewards backed by meaningful fees.
Treat these as rough bounds. Immutable’s own direction has changed several times since 2021, and a four-year forecast also has to guess how game publishers, app stores and regulators will treat tradeable items.
What analysts and forecasters say
We found no bank or asset manager with a published IMX price target, and none revised in 2026. Exchange learning centres and model-driven forecast sites publish IMX numbers, but they rely on technical extrapolation rather than research, so they are not useful evidence on their own.
What to watch
- Tradable supply: changes to CoinGecko’s circulating count and transfers from known treasury or ecosystem wallets.
- Immutable Chain metrics: DeFi deposits, daily transactions and NFT trading volume, which drive staking rewards.
- Audience and on-chain links: whether any Audience studios add Passport or tradeable items.
- Game launches: player counts for titles on Immutable Chain, not announcements.
- Gaming sector mood: our crypto gaming tokens guide tracks how rivals are faring.
Buying and comparing IMX
IMX is listed on most large centralized exchanges and exists as an ERC-20 token on Ethereum as well as on Immutable Chain, so check which network you are withdrawing on before moving it. Staking on Immutable Chain requires trading at least one NFT per reward cycle, so read the current rules first. For comparison, see our Ethereum price prediction, since Immutable settles to Ethereum, and the full list in our crypto price predictions hub.
FAQ
Can IMX reach $1?
On CoinGecko’s 904 million tradable tokens, $1 means a market cap of about $904 million, over seven times today’s level; counting all 2 billion tokens, it implies $2 billion. That sits in our 2030 bull range only. It would need sustained on-chain gaming activity, not just a market rally.
Will IMX get back to its $9.52 all-time high?
With all 2 billion tokens issued, $9.52 implies about $19 billion of fully diluted value, roughly 70 times today’s figure on that basis. The 2021 peak came when far fewer IMX were in circulation. We do not consider it a realistic target for the period covered here.
Will Immutable go up?
Nobody knows. Supporting factors are the end of vesting and the closed SEC case. Against them are the company’s move toward non-blockchain products, low on-chain usage and over a billion IMX outside the tradable count. Watch on-chain metrics and treasury flows rather than headlines.
Why is IMX’s market cap different on CoinGecko and CoinMarketCap?
CoinGecko counts roughly 904 million IMX as tradable, while CoinMarketCap counts all 2 billion. At the same price, that roughly doubles the market cap. For scenario maths, use one source consistently and keep the untracked tokens in mind as potential future supply.
